Kellogg Company is Hiring a Quality Technician II Near Cary, NC

In this role as a night shift Quality Technician II, you will engage your passion for food safety to provide front line support to manufacturing. You will be responsible for supporting operations to ensure alignment to all policies and practices in the Kellogg Food Safety Plan. Use your interpersonal skills in building collaborative relationships. Act as the Go-to-Resource for ensuring quality and food safety of our delicious Cheez-It brand produced at the Cary Bakery. HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING


  • Quality Control –
    Provide on-shift guidance and support for all aspects of quality and food safety programs, including verification of Certificates of Analyses (COA) for all incoming raw materials and packaging. You will respond to Food Safety incidents, review, and verify Critical Control Points and execute the environmental monitoring program.
  • Taking the Lead – Acting as the facility document control lead. You will be a critical on-shift team member and will communicate deficiencies and drive follow-up. Solve problems by identifying, defining, analyzing to determine the best course of action in a timely manner.
  • Audit Ready & Safety Driven– You will be conducting plant food safety and security audits and continually looking for food safety hazards and opportunities for improving the plant and process. You will also be conducting daily product evaluation and employee training in food safety, HACCP, GMPs, and SOPs.
  • Cross-Functional Support – That’s where your team skills come in. You will also support plant projects, including new equipment and new products. You will have the opportunity to lead continuous improvement projects as well and take ownership for critical pre-requisite programs as an Internal Auditor. You will be part helping to coach a highly engaged team that supports the Quality Digital programs and an environment of learning and growth.


YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS

  • High School diploma/GED with 2 years of directly related Food and / or Pharmaceuticals Industry experience.
  • Intermediate computer literacy in Microsoft software applications
  • Able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience in food safety, food technology, biology, microbiology, pharmaceuticals, or quality assurance.
  • Experience with SAP
  • Able to commit to working the following schedule: 6p-6am on a 2-2-3 rotation with every other weekend off on a long-term basis.
